This is a procedural race track tool intended to help streamline asset development and game engine integration. Drawing heavily from Kim Goossens's Houdini Procedural Road Creation project and Zak Parrish's Splines and Spline Components UE4 Tutorial, I wanted to create a custom race track builder tool in UE4 with the use of a Houdini Digital Asset.
Once the digital asset is loaded into Unreal and dropped into the viewport, it requires one curve as input. By adding addition control points to the curve, you can easily extend the path in Unreal. You can additionally turn on/off track settings such as showing track railings or the overhang under the details panel in the Houdini Parameters tab. In this demonstration I quickly made a simple figure 8 track and drove around it in a sample UE4 vehicle.
